The festival is located outdoors along Columbia Street, from the 200 through 600 blocks. There will be no rain/contingency plan.

 

Application Fee- A $40 nonrefundable application fee must be paid to ZAPPlication with credit card or PayPal.
Booth Fee

  • $200 for a single booth,
  • $260 for a corner or break-in--row booth,
  • $375 for a double booth, and
  • $435 for a double booth with corner or break-in-row.
  • A corner or break-in-row booth is defined as a booth with two open sides of display.
  • Double, corner, and break-in-row booths will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

THE FESTIVAL DOES NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS OR PAY PAL FOR BOOTH FEES.

Late Fee

A $25 late fee will be required for booth fees postmarked after August 3. If booth fees are not received by August 17 the exhibit space will be forfeited.

All cancellations must be submitted to the festival in writing. Cancellation deadline is Sept 1. No refunds will be made for cancellations requested after September 1. A $50 administrative fee will be charged for cancellations requested on or before September 1 and refunds will be made within 30 days of receipt of written cancellation notice.
Registration and Set-Up

  • Festival Headquarters is 419 N. New Hampshire St., Covington, LA 70433 (Covington Trailhead).
  • Registration hours are Friday from 3 - 6 PM and Saturday from 6 - 8 AM.
  • A photo ID must be presented at registration by each invited Artist [and Collaborating Artist].
  • Each exhibiting Artist must check-in at the Registration Desk in the Festival Headquarters before beginning set-up.
  • Booth set-up starts on Friday at 4:30 PM – closes at 8 PM and continues on Saturday from 6 - 8 AM.
  • No set-up is allowed before 4:30 PM on Friday and set-up must be completed by 8 AM on Saturday.
  • A Registration Packet will be distributed at Registration. It contains a vehicle parking pass for driving on Columbia Street for set-up and dismantling.The parking pass will also allow artists to park long-term parking in parking lots designated for Artists.
  • All vehicles must be out of the exhibit area by 8 AM Saturday.
  • Covington Three Rivers Art Festival hours are 10 AM - 5 PM, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Exhibits must be staffed and ready by 9 AM on Saturday and by 9:30AM on Sunday.
  • No more than two artists may collaborate on work. A Collaborating Artist contributes substantially to the creation of the artwork. Both names must be on the application, and both must exhibit for the full two days of the Festival.
  • All Artists [and Collaborating Artists] must exhibit for the full two days of the Festival. Artists are required to staff their exhibits during Festival hours. Employees, workers, or others may assist but are not allowed to attend in place of Artists.
  • Artists [and Collaborating Artists] bear the responsibility for all set-up and security needs for their exhibit. The festival does not provide assistance with set-up. The Festival is not responsible for loss, damage or injury of any kind.
  • Artists [and Collaborating Artists] are required to sign a Festival Release Statement. Artists will not be allowed to set-up an exhibit in the Festival until Festival Headquarters has received the Release Statement signed by the Artist (and Collaborating Artist).
  • All children must be closely supervised.
  • No pets are allowed before, during, or after the Festival per the Covington Police Department. No exceptions.
  • The Festival reserves the right to adopt, orally or in writing, any additional rule(s) that the Festival deems necessary for the good and welfare of the Festival. Such additional rule(s) shall have the same force and authority as though fully incorporated in this document, i.e., Rules of the Festival.
  • Artists (and Collaborating Artists) must comply with all Festival Rules, as well as city, state and federal laws. Failure to comply may result in the removal of an Artist from the Festival with no refund to the Artist, and will jeopardize participation in future festivals. Actions taken by the Festival in response to an Artist’s failure to comply are within the complete discretion of the Festival.
  • Booth space is 10' x 10'. Booth space cannot be shared, but one Artist may purchase more than one booth, if available.
  • Artists must provide their own display booths, tents (white tents preferred), weights to anchor tents, racks, tables and chairs. Artists are responsible for the assembly and disassembly of all items. The festival does not provide assistance with assembly or set-up. Artists must be prepared for the possibility of inclement weather conditions such as strong winds and/or rain.
  • Electricity is not available. Generators are not allowed on the Festival site or in the parking areas.
  • No nails or stakes are allowed to be placed in the street.
  • Exhibitors must confine themselves to their 10' deep x 10' wide booth space. Walkways between and/or beside booths are to remain clear and open for public passage and for safety and security reasons. All art, equipment, chairs, etc., are to be contained within the 10’x10’ booth space. No music shall be played inside your booth.
  • Any demonstrations must be pre-approved by the Festival & must be conducted within the Artists’ booth space.
  • Artists must prominently display an Artists Statement describing their process in their festival booth. If there is a collaborating artist, the statement must describe the collaboration.
  • Booth ID sign must be hung on the upper left side of each Artist’s tent or display.
  • Booth ID signs are the property of the Festival and must be returned at the close of the Festival.
  • Artists are not allowed to change or swap booths; but must occupy the booth and location designated by the Festival. As a condition of acceptance into the Festival, each Artist agrees and warrants that he/she shall not sublease, share, assign or transfer all or any portion of assigned exhibit space.
  • Sunday, 4:30 - 7 PM only.Dismantling must be completed by 7 PM.
  • Absolutely no packing before 5 PM on Sunday.Exhibitors who begin packing early will not be invited to return.
  • At the close of the Festival, volunteers will pick up booth ID signs and exhibitor badges.
  • Artists are responsible for their own dismantling.The Festival does not provide assistance with dismantling.
  • Artists retain 100% of their sales proceeds and are responsible for reporting their own taxes.
  • Sales taxes required by the City of Covington, St. Tammany Parish, and the State of Louisiana total 8.75% and reporting forms will be in the Registration Packet.
  • A Festival Evaluation Form will be included in the Registration Packet. Please give us your ideas and input for future shows by completing the evaluation form and returning it to your Block Captain on Sunday between 2 -5 PM.

Arts Alive!


Demonstrations by artists are an important educational component of the festival. Interested artists are asked to demonstrate the creation of a piece of work for approximately 45 minutes to one hour during the festival at the Arts Alive Demonstration Tent. Booth sitters will be available for artists alone in their booths. Please indicate if you are willing to participate on your application form. Artists may also choose to demonstrate at their booths, if feasible. A member of the Arts Alive! committee will contact you to make arrangements. Participants will be highlighted in the festival program and on the festival website.

 

Advertising and Promotion


The Covington Three Rivers Art Festival is promoted through extensive editorial coverage as well as paid advertising that targets sophisticated, knowledgeable buyers in the Greater New Orleans area, south Louisiana and along the Gulf Coast. The campaign includes radio, television, newspaper, magazine, direct mail, email, website and posters. The total value of publicity and advertising is valued at more than $50,000. An email version of festival postcards will be available for artists to send to their customers by email.
