2010 Student Art CompetitionCalling all student artists! Each year, the Covington Three Rivers Art Festival holds a Student Art Competition open to all St. Tammany Parish students (public, private, parochial, and home schooled), in grades K-12. Ribbons will be awarded for first, second and third places and honorable mention in each grade. There will be Best of Show ribbons and $50 cash awards in four levels. The American Society of Italian Heritage will also present a Michelangelo Award plaque and ribbon to four levels. New this year — Only ONE label is required on each piece of artwork, and the label is to be firmly attached to the FRONT of 2-dimensional artwork, and attached to 3-dimensional artwork with a string or tag hanging from the artwork. The label will be covered during judging and the covering will be removed after the judges have selected winning artwork. The Student Art Exhibition is moving to larger quarters! For our 2010 festival, student artwork will be displayed in the Covington City Council Chambers, 222 Kirkland, off the corner of N. Columbia and just across N. Columbia from the Children's Discovery Area and the Children's Performing Stage.
